Garlic peelers and paste processors splitting bulbs into cloves ahead of peeling. For the full fresh-produce range, see the fruit and vegetable processing hub.
The compact unit splits 500 kg/h at 0.75 kW for small processors, the standard 1,500 kg/h at 1.5 kW with a 98% separation rate, and the industrial 3,000 kg/h at 2.2 kW with continuous feed. All run dry with no water, which keeps the stage clean and effluent-free. Match it to the peeler downstream so bulbs never queue.
No. Bulbs break apart between soft rubber rollers with air separation finishing the job, and the damage rate stays under 2%. That matters because damaged cloves brown and spoil the peeled-clove grade. The gentle action is the reason this machine sits ahead of the peeler without dragging down clove quality.
98% or better on standard bulbs from 50 to 80 mm. Undersized or loose bulbs separate even easier, and elephant garlic runs with the large-bulb guide option that opens the roller path. The remainder exits as unsplit clusters for a second pass or manual finishing, which is normal practice on mixed lots.
0.3 cubic meters per minute at 0.4 MPa, a modest requirement compared with the peeler downstream. An oil-less food-grade compressor is the right pairing since the air contacts product. Plan the air supply for separator plus peeler together when specifying the line, so one compressor covers both stages.
Daily cleaning of the roller path and a monthly rubber roller inspection, since roller surface condition is what protects the low damage rate. The optional root cutter attachment removes roots during splitting, saving a manual trimming step. The stage sits between crate tipping and peeling in a complete garlic line.
