The panel construction is the same; the refrigeration package differs. Freezer rooms hold around -18°C for frozen stock, chiller rooms run 0 to 4°C for fresh and chilled product. Many plants build both, plus a dispatch anteroom. Decide by product mix and turnover, and we configure the refrigeration unit, defrost strategy, and door heaters to match the duty of each room.
Standard panels carry 100 to 150mm of polyurethane foam, fire-retardant rated, giving strong thermal resistance for both chiller and freezer duty. Thicker panels go on freezer rooms where a wall faces warm ambient air or sun. Panel joints are cam-locked and sealed on site. The insulation level is matched to room temperature and your climate, not quoted as one number for every room.
Capacity runs from 5 to 500 m3 in custom sizes, from small chill rooms to multi-zone industrial warehouses. The panel construction is modular, so extending a room later is realistic if you reserve the wall position and slab area now. Size from pallet count, stacking height, and turnover days rather than floor area alone. We plan the layout from your pallet drawing.
The insulated panels hold temperature roughly 8 to 24 hours without power, depending on room size, how fully it is loaded, and outside temperature. A full stock of cold frozen product acts as thermal mass, so a loaded room fares better than an empty one. Keep the doors shut during an outage. For sites with frequent outages, standby power for the condensing unit is the standard answer.
Sliding and hinged doors both seal magnetically. For busy openings, add an air curtain or a high-speed door to cut infiltration, because door traffic is where most cold loss and frost build-up happen. Heated frames on freezer doors stop the seal freezing shut. Size the opening for your pallet trucks with clearance, and we specify the door and curtain combination for the traffic level.
