Where It's Used

Dairy and beverage plants breaking fat globules for stable, smooth milk and cream products. For the full range, see the processing hub.

FAQ

For drinking milk and cream, yes. Stage one breaks the fat globules; stage two disperses the clusters that reform afterward, which visibly improves stability over shelf life. Single-stage saves money and can suit juice or simple emulsions, but if cream separation resistance and mouthfeel are in your spec, two-stage is the safe call.

Pressure is adjustable from 15 to 25 MPa, and higher pressure means smaller globules. Drinking milk sits near the middle of the band; demanding cream products run higher at the cost of faster valve wear. The same machine handles juice, where homogenizing stops pulp settling and rounds out mouthfeel. We set the starting profile per product.

Expect 75 to 82 dB at the unit, because the pressure drop happens almost instantly at the valve. A sound enclosure is recommended wherever operators work beside the machine, and it brings the area back to comfortable levels. Plan placement with this in mind: the homogenizer is the loudest machine on most dairy lines.

Flush it with CIP solution between batches rather than tearing down the fluid end. The valve and seat still need a monthly inspection, because wear shows up as pressure drift before it shows up in the product. Add an annual plunger seal replacement and that is the whole routine. Seals and cleaning chemicals are standard stock items.

Buying pressure you will never use. A 25 MPa multi-stage machine will do the work of a 15 MPa unit, but it costs more to buy, run, and maintain, with capacities from 1,000 to 10,000 L/h available. Match the model to your real products, then keep one step of headroom for future lines.
