FAQ

The range runs 500 to 2,500 apples per hour. The 22 kg benchtop model with manual feed fits small bakeries, cideries, and restaurant prep at 500 per hour. The 95 kg semi-automatic standard machine handles 1,200, and the 220 kg industrial unit with vibrating hopper feed reaches 2,500 for IQF slice and puree plants. Fruit from 60 to 90 mm processes without retooling.

Expect 78 to 85% peeled yield against unpeeled weight, with softer varieties giving slightly less than firm ones. The machine peels, cores, and slices in a single pass, and the coring blade removes stem and calyx along with the core. If you need whole peeled apples for baking or canning, the slice blade comes off in about five seconds.

Enzymatic browning starts within minutes of peeling. The standard fix is a 1% ascorbic acid dip immediately after the machine, or an in-line water spray that keeps cut surfaces wet until blanching or packing. For fresh-cut retail programs, combine the dip with prompt chilling. Scheduling batches close to packing also shortens the exposure window.

The spring-loaded peeler arm follows the fruit contour, so moderate irregularity peels cleanly without jamming. Heavily bruised apples should be sorted out for sauce or juice, since the peeler wastes flesh trying to follow soft spots. Rough grading of incoming fruit by size also raises yield because the arm travel stays consistent through the run.

Yes, with the pear attachment, which uses a different coring blade shape matched to pear geometry. Changeover between apples and pears is a matter of swapping the attachment, so mixed-crop processors keep one frame instead of two machines. Tell us your fruit list and target cuts, and we confirm the attachment set that covers all of them.
