FAQ

The entry plant pairs a cracker with a single air-leg separator over a 12 m line at 500 kg/h. The standard adds a second separator and a sizing screen across 20 m at 1,500 kg/h. The industrial version runs 3,000 kg/h full auto with optical sorting and packaging over 30 m. Match it to in-shell intake per shift and the floor you can give it.

The centrifugal cracker throws nuts against an impact plate at controlled speed, and that speed is the tuning knob: shell thickness and variety set how hard each nut must hit to crack cleanly without crushing the kernel. You retune impact speed when switching between walnut, pecan, and hazelnut. Handled this way, kernel breakage runs 5 to 10% depending on shell thickness and variety.

The cracked mix passes an air-leg density separator where lighter shells lift out and kernels fall through. The standard plant adds a dual separator plus a sizing screen; the industrial plant closes the loop with optical sorting ahead of packaging. Plan your outlets accordingly: one for clean kernels by grade, one for shells, and, if you re-run the middle fraction, a loop back to the separator.

These are configured systems, so expect a 40 to 55 day delivery window from order, and treat installation as a planned project around commissioning. The industrial line covers 30 m of floor, so confirm the building early: height, floor load, and power. We issue the layout and utility schedule for your configuration before anything ships so the site is ready.

For industrial-scale walnut processing, typical payback runs 10 to 14 months. The economics come from replacing hand cracking, recovering kernel value that breakage otherwise destroys, and running graded product that sells at a premium over field-run lots. The industrial configuration with optical sorting pushes recovery further by pulling defective kernels automatically. We can sketch the numbers against your volumes and labor costs.
