Degumming tank: removes phospholipids (gums) from crude oil using water or acid. 5-100 t/day. First step of edible oil refining.
| Model | Capacity | Configuration |
|---|---|---|
| DGD-101 | 5 t/day | Batch tank. Small refinery. |
| DGD-001 | 30 t/day | Continuous. Acid + water degumming. |
| DGD-201 | 100 t/day | Industrial. Enzymatic degumming option. |
Typical values — each model is configured to your product, cut size, and line speed.
Edible oil plants removing gums and phospholipids ahead of neutralizing and bleaching. For the full range, see the processing hub.
Water removes hydratable gums; phosphoric or citric acid removes the non-hydratable kind water leaves behind. Most crude carries both, which is why the DGD-001 runs acid plus water together. The result that matters: phosphorus falls from 500-1,000 ppm to below 10 ppm, which is what the neutralizer and bleacher downstream expect to receive.
Often, yes. Soybean gums are lecithin, a food emulsifier with its own market, so a stage designed to recover them cleanly turns waste handling into a by-product check. Whether the volume justifies the equipment depends on scale and feedstock. Tell us both and the gum handling is designed for recovery, not disposal.
Phospholipase treatment yields more oil with fewer chemicals, running at 40-60°C instead of the 70-80°C of water degumming. It is an option on the DGD-201 at 100 t/day. The premium pays where oil loss per ton is expensive, meaning larger plants and high-value oils. We will run the math on your tonnage.
First, ahead of neutralizing and bleaching, because gums left in the oil foul every later stage and foam in the consumer’s fryer after that. Capacities run 5 t/day batch, 30 t/day continuous with combined acid and water treatment, and 100 t/day industrial. Getting phosphorus down here is what keeps the downstream line clean.
Monthly agitator checks and an annual tank coating inspection. Acid dosing is corrosive by nature, so the coating quietly protects the vessel between inspections, and the agitator matters because gum hydration depends on mixing acid and water evenly through the oil. Both are quick checks; skipping them shows up as drifting phosphorus numbers.
