Bleaching tank: removes color pigments and residual impurities using bleaching earth/activated carbon. 5-100 t/day. Produces light-colored refined oil.
| Model | Capacity | Configuration |
|---|---|---|
| BLD-101 | 5 t/day | Batch bleacher. Small. |
| BLD-001 | 30 t/day | Continuous. Earth dosing + filtration. |
| BLD-201 | 100 t/day | Industrial. Multi-stage + spent earth. |
Typical values — each model is configured to your product, cut size, and line speed.
Refineries removing color pigments and residual gums with bleaching earth under vacuum. For the full range, see the processing hub.
Dosage runs 0.5-3% of oil by weight, set by how heavy the pigments are in your crude. Earth is a genuine running cost, so crude quality drives bleaching economics the same way free fatty acid drives neutralizing. Dosage trials on your oil set the real number before you contract supply.
Carbon is dosed alongside earth when the oil carries heavy polycyclic aromatics or dioxins, which earth alone does not catch. Feedstock with a heat-damage or environmental contaminant history should plan carbon from the start; otherwise earth alone handles color. Both powders dose and filter out in the same stage.
Lovibond red typically drops 70-90% through the stage, with crude quality and earth dose deciding where you land. The stage runs at 90-110°C under vacuum, because oxygen at that temperature would oxidize the oil and undo the work. Expect a marketable light grade rather than water-white unless you push dose hard.
Two recoveries are standard. Oil is first extracted from the spent earth, because earth leaving the plant still holds several percent of sellable oil, then the residual earth goes to soil amendment or fuel use. The BLD-201 industrial configuration includes spent earth handling. Set the disposal route before startup; it is what regulators ask about.
Monthly filter leaf cleaning is the big one, because earth fines blind the leaves and cut throughput long before anything blocks outright. Quarterly vacuum checks follow, since the stage works under vacuum and an air leak degrades the oil quietly. Both are scheduled items on the plan, not surprises.
