FAQ
The pump pushes oil through filter cloth between plates: solids stay on the cloth and build a cake layer that actually polishes further, while clear oil passes through. Fineness runs 5-20 microns depending on cloth grade, so the cloth is the lever you pull for clarity. We pick the grade against your spec.
The difference is cake discharge. On the FLT-201, plates separate automatically and the dry cake drops out; the 10-frame and 20-frame units open manually for scraping. Above a few tons of crude oil a day, manual discharge labor starts costing more than the automation did. We size frame count against your tonnage, 1 to 20 t/day.
Cloths run 3-6 months depending on oil type and solids load, with replacement sets at 80 to 150 USD. Order one spare set with the machine so a torn cloth never stops filtration. Wash cloths weekly rather than running them blind: a blinded cloth cuts throughput and clarity at the same time.

Weekly cloth cleaning and a monthly hydraulic check are the schedule. Hydraulic pressure is what seals the plates together, and a slow leak shows up as oil weeping between plates long before anything dramatic happens. Catch it in the monthly check and it is a seal; miss it and it is downtime.
